Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said on Sunday that strengthening the state institutions is the top priority of the PTI-led government. "Our country's institutional structure cannot be improved without ensuring merit," he said, addressing a news conference in Dubai.

The Information Minister further said that with a vision to open up the country for international tourism, the government had introduced a new visa regime with e-visa facility in one hundred seventy-five countries. He said they focus on attracting more tourists and facilitating tourist groups so that they can visit and explore our beautiful country. On foreign policy, the Minister said, Pakistan has played its role for peace and stability in Afghanistan and across the region, including the Middle East. He said peace in Afghanistan would bring peace and stability to the region.

Meanwhile, talking to a private television channel, information minister said economic relations between Pakistan and United Arab Emirates are strengthening day by day.

"Pakistan with its beautiful landscape and historical heritage has attraction for the people from across the world," he said, adding the new visa policy is historic as it would attract a large number of foreign tourists to Pakistan.

To a question, he said, opposition parties had nothing to say on policy matters and they wanted to escape accountability process. "I desire that the next PSL edition should be held in Pakistan so that the compatriots can also enjoy the game at their own play grounds," he said.
